little things later
I never get done. Even when I say "done". Lately writing into my little void teamed up with 11ty, GitHub, and netlify has made me happy. There's a sense of a closer relationship with the words somehow. Like when I write in this little markdown editor I find more ways to see how the things I say and want to say move around. For some time after I left pagecord I thought this would be an intermediate point along my voyage. I thought about going to bearblog. It's a nice platform. It offers a lot of what I want. It doesn't satisfy me. Doesn't make me want to delete some GitHub repo and the netlify connection and say yet again "done".
Instead things have become more of the daily mantra. There's the mornings of just finishing something held over since the night before. Then perhaps a new thing. A thought. Some thing I see that stirs a desire to just write.
Yeah just write and see where it all goes. I guess it's like a walk of mine. I can think before I want this left and that right. When I get there I decide to not do the idea. To go another point of some internal compass driving me.
I guess like writing here. I could easily change this out. I loved pika. I miss blot. I just could do those things. A flick of a switch. An annual subscription or monthly. Move my custom domain. But...
I don't think so. There is some tie. Some basic ingredient to not just changing again. The writing now gets me. It's a markdown file and always will be. It lives just like this. Not taken to some database. I feel somehow this sense of ownership even though most of how this works is beyond me. I need all the little pieces. Then there's what I don't need. I don't need some web editor to copy and paste into. I could use pika and its excellent micropub support. I could do something else. But something tells me for some time and some to come I won't.
I guess I'm happy here. Sitting here writing a thing on my little iPhone 13. Letting it go. And knowing I'm never done. Even when I say it.
Like now. I figure I went to one season for coffee this morning. Spring coffee always a delight then I took a different way than I thought. And so I visited summer.
Summer Coffee that is. Am I done yes and no.
